New ‘Tagging’ feature

What it is

Tags in Ombea Insights are extra data fields hidden in certain feedback streams. These allow you to tie feedback to specific people.

How it works

If you use the Ombea Link module to capture feedback, you can now pre-populate the feedback with a responder’s details.

The available fields are:

  • Custom ID (any ID that’s important to you, e.g. a unique customer key).
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Datetime (any date that’s important to you, e.g. the last purchase date).

You can add the tags and their associated values to the link you share with respondents. Consider the following scenario:

  • Your usual link is company.ombea.com
  • Your Stream is accessed via the shortcut /customer-survey (i.e. company.ombea.com/customer-survey)
  • You’d like to collect feedback from a specific person called Henry Ford
  • Henry Ford’s customer ID is 12345

In this scenario, you would send a feedback request to Henry Ford using the link company.ombea.com/customer-survey?cid=12345

If you are using the Website Widget module, tags are pre-populated using Javascript.
