Collect feedback directly from individual smiley images

What it is

You can now link smiley images presented outside Ombea Insights directly to their corresponding feedback options.

This means that when users click a smiley, for example in your email signature, their feedback is counted immediately, and they're taken straight to the second question in your stream. If there is no second question, they will be taken straight to your 'thank you' message.

How it works

This works for streams where the first question is a smiley question.

In Ombea Insights: Publish your stream

1. Create your stream as normal, and note the stream shortcut, e.g. https://acme.ombea.com/email-signature/
2. The hyperlink for each smiley uses the following structure (from the example above):
   • Dark red smiley: https://acme.ombea.com/email-signature/?conf_option=1
   • Light red smiley: https://acme.ombea.com/email-signature/?conf_option=2
   • Yellow smiley: https://acme.ombea.com/email-signature/?conf_option=3
   • Light green smiley: https://acme.ombea.com/email-signature/?conf_option=4
   • Dark green smiley: https://acme.ombea.com/email-signature/?conf_option=5

Get your smileys ready

1. Add the smileys to your document using the appropriate software. Instead of one single image with all five smileys, you will need 5 separate images, one for each smiley.
   • For example, if you are adding these to your email signature, use your email software to add the smileys to your signature.
   • Ensure that you use five separate smiley images, with the least happy smiley on the left and the most happy smiley on the right.
2. Add the hyperlinks noted above to each smiley image.
   • The exact method depends on your software but usually you can select the smiley image, right-click, and choose "Add Hyperlink" or "Edit Hyperlink" from the context menu. Paste the appropriate hyperlink into the hyperlink field.
3. Save your changes and test the functionality by clicking on each smiley image. The selected smiley should redirect you to the corresponding feedback page.

By following these steps, you'll have successfully added links to smiley images in the Ombea Insights Link module, allowing users to select their preferred choice directly from your communication.
